Start with scan distance
A QR code on a business card can be much smaller than one on a poster. The farther away someone scans, the larger the QR code should be.
For small printed items, avoid dense data and keep the design simple.
Use enough quiet space
Quiet space is the empty margin around the QR code. It helps cameras find the edge of the pattern.
Do not crowd the code with text, borders, photos, or other design elements.
Export the right file type
Use SVG for print whenever possible. It scales cleanly and avoids blurry edges.
PNG also works well for office printing, but export it at a high enough resolution for the final size.
